Round 2 - Pierce v. Reynald

Finally the fighting start to begin oddly.
Of course Akuma already has sore feelings against
Pierce for the beginning, having to practically drag him by
his hair to the fight earlier. Yota is a bit more reserved
yet childish with a bit more of an understanding then
Scott. ~PatiLee has a rather interesting concept for
Yota, looking back at her ref she often alternated between
calling Yota a "he" and "she". So in my own lame way I
tried to alternate how Yota looked in some of the panels to play along with what she had going for Yota, drawing him rather boyish in one and feminine in another.
(although difference can not be discovered all that much,
since my females and males tend to look a lot alike -_- ; )
Of course I have fond feelings for all the judges here,
so I wanted to add a little interaction between the two
for a little comic relief and provide a smile for the reader,
since that's what I enjoy doing most. c8
And a distraction was given for Pierce indeed once he steps
through the portal and gazes around at his surroundings.
As he is a rather strange individual that enjoys the adrenaline rushes and many things that cause normal people to look away with churning stomachs. In a way he views upon these extreme risk-taking actions such as free-running as a way of relief from stress and other emotional
probably, he is the kind who prefers to run off and most of the time run away from his problems. The blood pumping in his veins reminds him that he is still alive and fighting, despite other troubles.
Already he is in home territory so he starts to get a rather
hot head on his shoulders, as he glances at Reynald with
a rather smug look plastered on his fast with an "I can do way better then that" attitude. Once he sees the Reynald is not trying to show off though..and that he is actually in trouble..his arrogance quickly disappears and is replaced with growing concern from the drunken man. As he
runs down to confront the injured man, his concern is
rather misplaced and awkward as he is not the kind of
person who knows how to deal with such things, going blank in the head from the shock of looking at a possibly dead man. But once Reyanld lifts his head and makes
his "badass" introduction, he soon discovers the man
is way beyond intoxicated.
His concern is replaced with a annoyance and agitation at the sight of him. Pierce's father was quite the drinker himself along with being a drug abuser, so he looked at Reynald
with a "oh great another god damn drunk" attitude. With patience already slim from the beginning. With a bit
of an upperhand feeling from the start, feeling he can
push around the drunken 5'7 older man with his 5'11 sober
frame. Which results in yelling his face about his name being
mispronounced in Reynald's drunken slur. Already
building the big dog attitude and a form of intimidation of taking no crap from anyway image.
But just as quick as Pierce raised his hackles he was knocked down off his feet once Reyanld acknowledged the young man from his last fight. Also like Pierce, Reynald had a
close relationship with the "little man" known as Scott, and was enraged to see his friend's attacker in his face and instantly thinking revenge. As anger is the quickest to show
in drunks, he responded rather violently and clusmily to Pierce when Pierce started to antagonize him about being a horrible friend for not knowing Scott's name. Such as when he swung the sword at Pierce's face but obviously missed
considering Pierce made no open attempt to step aside.
Even though Reynald had a rather clumsy image, Pierce
is immediately intimidated by him from the first fist thrown
at his face. Not wanting to show any fear though, in a quick
scadaddle he leaps over Reynald pulling his jacket over
his head and makes for higher ground quickly. Once perched
in the mountains he observes him from a safe distance to assess the situation. He knows that Reynald can be quickly
confused but at the same time he punches rather hard which makes things a tad more dangerous. So to top off
his confusion, he glances at Reynald's attire to find he has more then one similar looking gem! dumbfounded, he
stares bitterly at him, trying to figure out which is the real
deal.
But of course Reynald spots the "turd" and throws his sword at Pierce which narrowly misses, causing Pierce to
drop his nail-gun in complete shock and fear. Normally
Reynald would not be the kind to enjoy taking off heads,
but in his drunken state his judgement is rather clouded.
But since Pierce is a rather "lucky" guy, Reynald absent-mindly catches his weapon and looks over at Pierce
with a "heeheee your screwed now punk!" expression.
Side notes:
- I was a bit unsure on how to play along with Reynald's
character, I don't have much experience with working with
drunken people, although I wanted to refrain from the
typical falling over dumbass that media often sees so much
of today. Looking back through ~L421 Reynald is actually able to contain his alcohol oddly enough, but only
in certain intervals. I wanted to incooperate the rather drunk symptons though to make it more believable, such
as missing widely when swinging the sword, talking in a
drunken slur when unsure about Pierce's indenity and of course my favorite, the rapid and extreme mood swings.
